HAPPIES

1. I got to spend 5 days with my family back in Corpus this past week. Seeing my family was MUCH overdue and I was so glad to have spent as much time as we could there.

2. As y’all know, my parents got me the Maskcara IIID Foundation HAC Pack for Christmas! It was the really big thing on my list, so it made me really happy.

3. Mathew and I not only got to have a late Christmas with my family, but we spent New Year’s Eve with them as well! We had a great time at my aunt’s house playing trivia games, watching football, eating yummy food, and my favorite part…making bunuelos. Bunuelos are balls of dough stretched out super thin until they’re practically see through. Then, they are fried in oil and covered with cinnamon sugar. It’s my favorite part of New Years because all the ladies just sit around, talk, and try to make the best looking one!

4. Mathew and I started working out again and are beginning the process of clean eating. I’ll be talking more about our journey with clean eating and even giving y’all some fun recipes from one of my favorite websites, which I can’t wait to do! Although yesterday was only day 1, I’m happy to say that it was a success.

5. I was inspired by a fellow blogger and Instagrammer to take a picture every day for the year and use a hashtag to document it. I’d love if you all followed my hashtag on Instagram– #VMWeveryday2014. Let’s hope I can keep it up for all 365 days!

CRAPPIES

1. My car STILL isn’t done and I wrecked it in October. I’m dying to have it back!

2. Our only working car went kaput on us this week and so we are even MORE in dire need for crappy #1! We would absolutely love your prayers or thoughts to just get through this hard time. It’s not easy having ZERO vehicles.

Happies and Crappies 48: an Incredibly Long Week

Welcome to our 48th week of Happies and Crappies link up day! H&C wouldn’t have been around for so long if it wasn’t for you awesome ladies linking up, so Amber and I really appreciate you!

HAPPIES

1. It’s Friday and I have a half day at work today! It’s also pajama day, which makes things infinitely better as well. It’s been a seriously long week and for some reason I felt as if it was dragging by even though I was insanely busy. I am so excited though to give my students their Christmas presents today, considering some of my students may not even get Christmas presents this year. I got them all puzzles and tried to fit the animal to their personality, so I hope they love them.

2. I was so fortunate to have the opportunity to go to a blogger meet up last weekend and meet with Laurie and Jessica of Ruthie and Rose, Casey of Real Suburbia, and Adrian of Revelry Beauty. I’ll be blogging about it next week (since I will officially be on vacaaaaation!) and I can’t wait to tell you all the fun things we did!

3. I made an amazing dessert the other day using Pillsbury Gluten Free Cookie Dough! I can’t wait to share it with you this Monday! I haven’t shared a recipe with y’all in a while, so I am super psyched!

4. Today is Pearl’s 2nd birthday! It’s been 2 years since our sweet nugget was born, and I couldn’t ask for a sweeter and cuddlier snuggle buddy and nap partner. She is an absolute blessing in our lives and she brightens up our days! I got this picture of her last weekend. Yeah, she looks a little bit of a mess (she hasn’t had a haircut since before our accident in October because her fur needed to grow our), but we love her so much. I think we’ll be taking her to the dog treat store today and buying her a cupcake or something to celebrate.

Our maltipoo, Pearl

CRAPPIES

1. I didn’t post anything on the blog all week. Real life snuck up on me and I definitely didn’t have any time to write this week. I’m so ready for my break!

2. My work has been providing us breakfast every day for 2 weeks, and lunches just about every other day…and now I’m getting fat(ter). Definitely will be putting in time at the gym while I’m on break!

3. My hands and cuticles have been extremely dry the past week because of the weather. My cuticles are all ripped up and they hurt because they’ve been tearing up so badly! I’ve been putting lotion and cuticle oil but none of it is working. Do you have a favorite hand cream that you really love?

4. I haven’t wrapped any Christmas presents so my tree looks empty. So sad.

Color Me Rad Giveaway

Last Fall I participated in a color run, and I’m so excited to say I will be participating in another run this weekend! Our run last year in Dallas was a ton of fun, and I really just enjoyed the quality time Mathew and I gotta have with each other.

This weekend Mathew and I will be participating in the Color Me Rad here in Waco and I’m just psyched because we have never been in a race here in town! If you dont know, the Color Me Rad race is a 5K that fires off in a blaze of color bombs, color cannons, color mortars, and multi-toned courses. The bet part is you start off with a white shirt, and throughout the run, you’ll get splashed with color bombs of blue, green, pink, purple, and yellow until you come out like a tie-dyed hippy at the end. Corn allergy friends beware though, the color is actually from colored cornstarch!

We had such a fun time last year that we really couldn’t wait to jump at the opportunity to run again (even though we are definitely not runners). The best part though is being able to hang out with friends before, during, and after the race. Mathew and I went solo last year so we could really soak in the run and just get a feel for all the fun, but this year we are meeting up with friends , which is going to make it even better. I plan on busting out my workout pants, favorite running shoes, white Color Me Rad shirt, and just getting color schwasted!

I’m looking for 2 bloggers to win a ticket each for the Color Me Rad race in Waco, Texas this weekend. If you’re in DFW, Austin, College Station, or anywhere in between, you’ll DEFINITELY want to enter and have fun at the Color Me Rad race with me!

So what are you waiting for? Go enter now!
