I always grew up hating my body. When I was skinny I always grew up hating my body. When I was skinny I wasn’t skinny enough. If I gained weight I was immediately disgusted with myself. Even if I was a perfectly “healthy weight” I still felt fat. Literally since the 3rd grade.

Addie starts 3rd grade and I never want her to feel like her body isn’t worthy of love. She may look different, but we all are different! So whatever your body looks like- celebrate it! Life is too short to care about what others think. 🥰
Technology is so cool! So excited for Addie’s co Technology is so cool! So excited for Addie’s cochlear implant upgrade! Do you have questions about them? Ask away in the comments!

SURPRISE! Miss Addie is coming home from the hospi SURPRISE! Miss Addie is coming home from the hospital today!

After having a couple better days and nights, Addie’s team felt it was ok to go home and follow up outpatient! We did so many tests of all kinds (blood, xray, EEG, MRI, and more) and came to two conclusions- 1: this is GI related because she seems very uncomfortable after feeds (so we’ve changed up some things and have a plan) and 2: this is neuro related (which we don’t really think BUT we have a medicine we can start when we feel appropriate if the intense agitation happens again.)

We trust Addie’s team wholeheartedly and feel like we’ve got a good plan in place. It’s so hard to know exactly to best help Addie when she is non-verbal, but we also plan to start teaching her body parts on her eye gaze device in case this happens again.

Addie and Lawson both are pooped out from this week’s whirlwind and are currently passed out asleep in the car on the way home. Thank you all for your prayers, and please keep them coming- that this agitation thing is solved and won’t happen again. For everyone that sent Addie and the fam gifts/food- we thank you so so much. Truly.
Look who is here! Daddy took the day off to come Look who is here!

Daddy took the day off to come be with his girl, and Addie couldn’t be happier. He left super early this morning for the long drive and got here just an hour after she woke. She was so surprised!

Miss Addie had a great night. The first night since she’s been here that she didn’t need any kind of calming medicine to sleep from her intense agitation. She was a little agitated last night, but I think it was just due to being uncomfortable. It’s hard to sleep with those crummy hospital pillows! I had Mathew bring her pillows from home today and she’s much happier. Anyway, nice I got her positioned well, she fell asleep at 11 and apparently slept all night til almost 7! It feels like such a win! It’s been a week since she’s had a full night of rest and it made me so happy.

Hoping GI stops by soon so we can discuss our thoughts on it being the source of her agitation, but Neurology and ENT have given the clear and I think Pulmonology will too once they come. Massage Therapy should be coming by today too, which I know Addie will appreciate.

My plan is to hang out with Addie and Mathew all day, catch him up to speed and make sure that we get everything taken care of today. Later in the day, I’ll head back and spend the weekend with Lawson. Then I’ll be back in the hospital on Sunday night to be back with Addie.

All in all, I do see some progress in her demeanor, so I think we are on the right track. Please keep praying for her and praying that we find the source of her agitation.

Also, if you still want to send Miss Addie some balloons, a stuffed toy, or something, you can always message me. The balloons are making her so happy this morning especially. Thank you all for all your love and prayers for our family this week. It’s been so hard to see her so upset and in visible pain.
It’s been a day! Addie had an MRI and an eye ex It’s been a day!

Addie had an MRI and an eye exam, and she did great for both. We got helpful info on both, even though they weren’t in regards to her agitation issues. Just good info to have all around.

GI should be coming by tomorrow. I’m hoping we can get some help for Addie’s agitation once they see her. I will say, after some very large diapers yesterday and today, she has been less agitated. Still doing the kicking thing, but not as strongly.

Mathew is coming tomorrow. I’ll stay most of the day to show him the ropes and catch him up to speed, and then I’ll swap with him and take care of Lawson for the weekend. Then we will swap again!

I’m glad that today had less agitation for my girl. Please pray that tonight she sleeps well. Last night she was up almost all night and spent a lot of it feeling miserable. Please also pray that tomorrow helps us move towards answers.❤️
Addie is in MRI and I’m sitting here a la Ricky Addie is in MRI and I’m sitting here a la Ricky Bobby like “idk what to do with my hands 🙌🏻” as I wait for her to come back. Hubby is so busy at work and it’s too quiet with Addie not in her hospital room. (Also- he’s an incredible dad. Work is just super busy today as he tries to do as much as possible to come be with Addie tomorrow)
