HAPPIES

1. Mathew and I celebrated our anniversary this week! I’ll be talking about our anniversary next week, but we had a blast. Fancy dinner, beautiful roses, and ice skating- it was a wonderful night.

2. More and more people from work are reading my blog. It makes me happy when they say, “Hey- I saw your anniversary post! Y’all are so cute!” or something random about a blog post. It’s so great that they support me. So…everyone from work that’s reading (Hi, Kenna!)… y’all rock!

3. Our awesome friend, Kasey, that works at our apartment complex won the Ondreya lamps from Ashley Furniture HomeStore on Tuesday! I was so excited that my readers and friends were “friending” them on Facebook to automatically enter their 25 Days of Christmas giveaway! If you haven’t friended them on Facebook, make sure you do NOW so you can win something fun for your home this Christmas.

4. I found out that the day before we get off of break for Christmas vacation is pajama day at work. I’m SO excited to wear my new flannel pants and matching top from Old Navy (I got them for a STEAL on Black Friday). Pajamas at work is SO going to be fun.

5. I got to hang out with my niece for Thanksgiving (and of course my brother, sister, cousin, aunts, uncles, grandmother, and parents- but that’s besides the point) and took this adorable picture with her. I can never get enough of those adorable dimples!

CRAPPIES

1. My favorite (and only) pair of leggings ripped on Tuesday (our anniversary) before Mathew and I went ice skating. Needless to say, I was a little sad! I loved them. I replaced them yesterday with a new pair from Kohl’s though!
2. Mathew and I took out all the Christmas stuff on Sunday and have everything done except for the tree. I’ve been wanting to do it all week, but when we started stringing the lights on the tree, some how we have like 1/3 of the tree that needs lights! Then we went to the store and tried to buy the lights, but they were out. So Mathew called another Walmart and made me go all the way and get them, only to find that they saved me the wrong bulbs. So Mathew returned them and saw that our regular Walmart had the lights, so he got them. I put a box on the tree, turned them on- and they’re like warm white aka orange instead of a cool white. Needless to say, we still have to return our lights AGAIN, and get the right ones. So FRUSTRATING!

3. I have not made it to the gym in 2 weeks. My coworker and I are both piled with stuff that we need to do in our actual classrooms (and really can’t take home) and we’ve been staying SO late at work. Our cars have been last (or almost last) in the parking lot ALL week.

Now it’s your turn to link up! Tell us about the Happies and Crappies from your week!

Thankful Turkey Thanksgiving Cookie Craft

Wow! It’s only Tuesday and it’s already been one crazy week. Between meeting my idol (more on that later this week), freezing my butt off in this weather (we somehow went from summer to winter weather and skipped fall), and making sure I’m prepared at work, I’ve had my fair share of excitement for the week already. Sunday afternoon I started to panic because I didn’t know what I would make my students and my co-workers as a little Thanksgiving gift, and then got this really cute idea to make the Thankful Turkey Thanksgiving Cookie Craft!

Looking for something easy that the kids can make at the Thanksgiving table? Try this Thankful Turkey Thanksgiving Cookie Craft!

I love this Thanksgiving craft because not only can kids make them, but they’re fun for adults too! I not only made these for my students, but I made a little different version for my co-workers, and another version for my room moms. It’s a great project for you to make ahead of time for your Thanksgiving party to give to the kids, make as place holders at the kids table, or even have the kids make themselves. It’s also a fun little goody to give away at the end of your Thanksgiving party as your guests walk out the door.

What you’ll need:

– Cookies (I made Snickerdoodles, but any kind is fine)
– large Googly eyes
– Press and Seal Wrap
– Orange Sharpie
– Construction paper in assorted colors, cut into feather-like shape
– Pen
– Glue gun (low heat)

How to do it:

1. Bake your cookies (or buy them!) and wrap them in a square of Press and Seal Wrap. Make sure the top of your cookie is facing the smooth side of the wrap. This will ensure that your Thankful Turkey Thanksgiving Cookie Craft looks great!

2. Cut out your feathers out of construction paper and write your message. I wrote “I am thankful for you! – Mrs. Wolfe” and “We are thankful for all your help! – Mrs. Wolfe’s class” for mine.

3. Using your hot glue gun, glue your feathers to the back of your wrapped cookie, making sure that the words are visible on the front.

4. Glue googly eyes to the front side of your cookie and draw a beak with your orange sharpie.

Voila! It’s as easy as that! If you’re looking for a last-minute Thanksgiving project I hope you’ll try out the Thankful Turkey Thanksgiving Cookie Craft. I’d love to see how yours turned out, what messages you’re planning on writing, or how much your friends/family/coworkers/kiddos enjoyed it!

It’s Friday and I’m Happy: (Happies and Crappies 45!)

The Vintage Modern Wife and Brunch With Amber: Happies and Crappies Link Up

Welcome to our 45th week of Happies and Crappies link up day! H&C wouldn’t have been around for so long if it wasn’t for you awesome ladies linking up, so Amber and I really appreciate you!

HAPPIES

1. Every Friday at work, our music teacher sings a song that goes “It’s Friday and I’m happy. It’s Friday and I’m happy. It’s Friday and I’m happy. It’s Friday. I’m happy!” I can’t help but sing it too every time Friday rolls around. I am in DIRE need of the weekend!

2. I FINALLY grabbed the pictures we need for our wedding album. Our 2 year anniversary is December 3rd and I hadn’t done it yet. My MIL had been hounding me to do it and I finally remembered to! With about 100 pictures, I’m excited to see how our album turns out. I posted one on Instagram last night just because it is one that I really love (and don’t even remember happening!) If you’re looking for a Waco photographer, I hope you’ll check out Legacy Imaging. They are amazing! If you look at the slide show on their home page, you may or may not see Mathew and I on there!

3. My dream is happening tomorrow… I GET TO MEET JESSICA SIMPSON! I seriously have no idea what I’m going to say to her. Honestly, I could go on for days and ramble to her about all the things I’ve ever wanted to tell her my whole entire life, but I’m going to try and play it cool. But let’s be honest…I’ll be freaking out and acting a little crazy. I really would love to work with her or her team sometime for this blog . I think it would be fun to showcase her products (because I have SO many and buy anything that has her name on it). I’m excited to meet Ashlee too. Like I said last Friday, she reminds me so much of my little sister that I just think it’d be cool.

Ash and Jess are just like me and my sister. My sister wears a lot of black and is edgy, and I love pink! See? We’re meant to be besties!

4. My coworker that had twins earlier this semester is finally coming back to work on Monday. She was very encouraging to me before the school year started and was always willing to help me or give me advice. I’m so excited that she will be back starting next week. She actually stopped by the school on Wednesday and I got to hold her little babies again. They were just precious. I definitely didn’t want to share!

5. My car is FINALLY going to be starting to get worked on. We had so much insurance stuff to deal with but now it’s all fixed and the car is on it’s way to being 100%. I’ve missed it. I forgot how much of a gas guzzler my old Jeep was. Boo.

CRAPPIES

1. I’m sick AGAIN. I feel like I say this every week. This time? Drainage with a terrible cough. My throat burns so badly! Stupid germs.

2. I have a bad habit of peeling my nails if they get too long. I did my index finger too short and now it hurts. Lame.

3. I’m so old. I used to love going to midnight premieres of movies. Now, I’d rather go on the weekend so I don’t risk falling asleep during the movie. What happened to me!? In any case, I’m SO ready to see Catching Fire. I hope it is as good as the book.
