Wow! It’s been another busy week! We were supposed to have a relaxing week and then Addie decided she was going to get sick. Poor sweet pea has the WORST upper respiratory/sinus infection yet AGAIN, and of course, I’ve caught it as well. Before she got sick towards the end of the week, she worked SO hard in physical therapy and occupational therapy sessions. I was so proud of her. At the end of the week though, it was rough and we let Addie do a lot of sleeping. She seems to get sick so easily from being in the hospital for 10 months. She’s gotten sick probably once a month since she’s been home, but she’s been such a trooper. Addie has not required any extra oxygen or increased settings of any kind each time she’s been sick. Praise the Lord for such a HUGE blessing in that! I also enjoyed a weekend away in Marble Falls, Texas while Mathew and the nurses took care of my sweet girl. It was nice to get away and have some mom time with my bestie, Lauren. I digress- this week, I needed an EXTRA SUPER FAST hairstyle that would be functional and fun because many of you have requested styles for keeping your hair up, and to be honest, it’s too dang hot to have my hair down. So, I went with a casual yet classy Fishtail Braided Chignon. Y’all will LOVE it.

Remember: The goal of Mom Hair Monday? To give you a cute, functional hairstyle that will take you from drab to fab in 5 minutes. 5 minutes is all we have, right moms? I’ll be showing you my tried and true hairstyles that are no fuss but look like you put in a ton of effort. This installment of Mom Hair Monday starts NOW and is the Fishtail Braided Chignon.
What will you need for the Fishtail Braided Chignon?
Here’s how to do it:
2. Gently pull out the braid to make it wider and fluffier starting from the top and working your way to the bottom.
3. Pull out a little bit of face framing strands on both sides of the front of your face. Take your bobby pins and pin the braid into a side bun. I personally like my look to be very undone and like I’m not trying too hard. However, if you are going somewhere that you need to be a little more polished, don’t pull out the face framing strands and pin the bun into a tighter look.
4. Hairspray your hair and VOILA you’re done! Perfectly undone fishtail braided chignon!
This week is a busy week for the Wolfe household. We have doctor appointments for shots and pre-op work, we’ll be on KWTX Tuesday and Wednesday for our Spread the Lovey kindness project campaign that you all helped donate to, AND I’ll be headed to Blog Elevated on Saturday! We’re excited for such a fun week. Please pray that we all feel much better by Tuesday!
