Being active has taken the back seat in my life since fall hit. With school, work, and student teaching (and getting this blog where I want it to be), I’m exhausted by the time I get home. The only bad thing about this? Fall = delicious treats with lots of pumpkin and sugar. It’s like my body KNOWS when it’s pumpkin season and I just crave it all the time. No, I’m not pregnant, I just love pumpkin!

Anyway, I’m making it my goal to get back to working out by starting the C25K work out routine so I can participate in the Color in Motion 5k and I really need your support. Mathew and I have slacked so much, and this just seems a really good routine to get into. No, this isn’t a sponsored post, but my legit wanting to get back into shape. Sure, I’ve lost 35 lbs, but what good is it if I’m not fit?

So, What is C25K?
C25K stands for Couch to 5K and is a 9 week training program to learn to go from a couch potato to a runner gradually. Each session takes 20-30 minutes which is completely doable every day. I know I’m one of the number one people to say, “I don’t have time!” but really, y’all know you can make time. I’m gonna work really hard to make time, because I definitely don’t want to be at the Color in Motion race in a few weeks and be walking most of the time. Granted, I won’t have a chance to do the full 9 week program, but I think at least a few weeks would do me some good.

Even better? C25K totally has a free app for all you iPhone users! When you look up the app, there are a ton of different ones, but the one that looks like this is the one I’m going to be using:

I hope some of you are runners (or at least joggers) because  next week I’ll have a Color in Motion giveaway with 2 tickets to the race so you can join my husband and I in Dallas! I love meeting blogger friends, so I can’t wait for the giveaway next week.

So here’s my question for you guys: how do you stay fit? What workout programs do you like/use? Also, how do you keep from overeating during the holiday season?
