I never do New Year’s resolutions. Like ever. Maybe because I feel like when I used to I never went through with them. Or maybe they lasted until February or March and then I’d be over it. I’m not sure. I’ve just never been good at that whole resolution thing. This year, I’ve actually decided to try….clean eating with eMeals.
I know, I know..diets. Blech! But, to me, I feel like clean eating isn’t really a “diet” per se. For several months now, even though I was working out with my co-worker, I realized that all I was putting into my mouth were meat and starches. I rarely had vegetables, and to be honest, even though I realized that I wasn’t eating well, I didn’t care. It definitely was a slippery slope, considering that I KNOW how to keep my body in shape and how to lose weight and keep it off for a long while. It was SO frustrating.
Christmas break was the kicker for me. Mathew and I went home to Corpus to visit my family. While I was there I indulged in Chinese food, Mexican food (so many chips and tortillas!), sweets (pan dulce, ice cream, bunuelos), and I honestly don’t think I had ANY vegetables except once when my mom made green beans. Pretty sad, huh? I thought so…
January 2nd I decided to jump back onto eMeals and switch my meal plan to the 2 year Clean Eating Plan for Two. Let me tell you, it’s already made a world of a difference. At the grocery store, someone actually complimented me on my grocery basket- it was FULL of vegetables (and that wasn’t even all the veggies and fruit I bought!) Not only that, but I’ve found that I have SO much more energy. I took down Christmas, cleaned the kitchen, and even cleaned out our storage closet. Trust me, that’s rare.
eMeals sends you a list of recipes each week for your meal plan, and a grocery list as well so you don’t have to worry about making one! Plus, if you’re a Dave Ramsey fan, it’s endorsed by him! Meal planning is an effective way to save money because you’re thinking ahead instead of thinking about getting take out because you forgot to get groceries.
Mathew and I are also back on My Fitness Pal (add me!) and as of yesterday have lost 4 pounds in 3 days. We are eating our calories that MFP has given us, and are working out together. It’s amazing what you can get accomplished when someone in your house is working towards the same goal you are! I want my body to be healthy so that someday in the future we can have a baby. I would absolutely not want to have a pregnancy where I was diabetic, had high blood pressure, or became obese. I want to be in amazing shape, making great food choices to FUEL my body and my child’s body, and I don’t want to be tired from only eating carbs.
Later this week I’ll be sharing my favorite eMeals clean eating recipe- Kale, Bean, and Orzo soup with of COURSE my own little spin to it. I’ll even be giving you the calorie counts so you know how much to put into your My Fitness Pal account if you make it. It’s time for me to make a change, and I hope you’ll join me in the journey. I still probably won’t be sharing workout pictures all over the place, because I’m doing this for ME, but I will happily share some clean eating recipes that pass my way.
If you’re thinking about clean eating and want help from eMeals I highly suggest it. You can try either of these plans:
6 month Clean Eating Plan for Two,
1 year Clean Eating Plan for Two or 1 year Clean Eating Family Plan,
2 year Clean Eating Plan for Two or 2 year Clean Eating Family Plan

What a great plan! And those recipes sound amazing. We are starting a paleo challenge in our house this week, so we’ll see how it goes… So far breakfast was pretty good! Hope you have a good week!

This is the 2nd post about emeals that I’ve seen that has intrigued me. I was a little worried about the recipes though. How do I know that the recipes emeals provides will be things my family will eat?

I have the emeals clean eating plan too except I never make anything. So I’m excited to hear your favorites b/c it might motivate me to cook once in a while. It is so hard to cook/shop for 1.

My husband and I are doing the Whole30 this month, and I totally agree that it’s SO much easier to do it since he’s with me. I too never realized how much crap I was really eating. Now I’m eating so many more vegetables, and it’s great. My absolute favorite meal is pan grilled pork chops and roasted Brussels sprouts. SO yummy and super easy!
