Ok ladies I have a dilemma. Next semester I’ll still be in school. I estimated when I’d have finals for that semester (because we’ll get married right before), and we’ll basically be married 1-2 weeks before we can go on our honeymoon.
BUT
Last night, I found SUPER CHEAP airplane tickets to Cancun. Thing is, they’re for a Wednesday (Friday was $200 more expensive) and I may possibly have a final that day. So my question is, should I go ahead and buy them and as soon as next semester starts mention it to my professor? OR should I just wait until August (when the semester begins) and try to see about getting a good deal then?
They normally have tons of deals to Cancun. We are going to Riviera Maya and we fly into cancun. The flights ahve been $100/each eay on Airtran since like last October!! 🙂 So maybe wait???

It’s tough. Where I went to school by the time I was in my last semester I had almost all the teachers at least once. They would have been really cool about letting me take it early. Do you know who the professors are? Is it possible for you to take that class pass/fail and skip the final?
I probably wouldn’t chance it myself. I know some professors will allow you to take a final earlier, but others won’t.
I wouldn’t chance it, I’m sure you’ll find a great deal again at another time.
I would wait. I think you should be able to find great deals if you wait a little bit and if you have to think about rescheduling finals, that’s one more thing to worry about!
Here’s my input… you definitely have the opportunity to figure this out NOW! What I would do is to figure out who your potential professor(s) could be for the class and email them NOW to tell them your situation.
I would be willing to guess that MOST professors would be willing to let you take the test early, ESPECIALLY if you went and talked to them early. I know that if one of my students came to me well in advance, I would do what I could to help them out.
Even if you have two or three potential professors, I would just contact all of them and say “I may be taking your class next semester and…” and see what you find!

The tricky part is that plane tickets get more expensive the closer they get… is there any way you can check your schedule already and see when the final will be? I know Baylor’s final’s week is already posted I’m pretty sure… and since I know what I’ll be taking I can know when they are.
