 1. What is the name of your blog? How long have you been blogging?
My blog is called The Vintage Modern Wife. It was originally named The Vintage Modern Bride before I got married! This isn’t the first blog I’ve had. I used to have a LiveJournal blog back in 2004 and kept it for about 2 years. It used to be called “Captivatiions” and I loved talking about my life and I made TONS of avatar and LJ header graphics (psst- I even had my own font made back then!)

2. Why do you blog?
I blog because I love having a place to document my life. I think it’s fun to go back and read old posts and see what my life was like 1 month, 1 year, or even 5 years ago. Not only that, but I love the sense of community in the blogging world. Honestly, I’ve met some AMAZING ladies in blogging (Sar, Neely, and Sarah– that means you!) and I’m actually still friends with girls I’ve met through LiveJournal (Shay and Katie I heart y’all).

3. What is the first blog you ever followed? 
The first blog I ever followed was Bicoastal Bride, Heather. I felt like I was seeing her EVERYWHERE in the wedding blogging world, and started a nice little friendship with her. She’s seriously such a sweet gal.

 4. What is your favorite post you wrote in 2012? 
My favorite post from 2012 is just my favorite for personal reasons. I chose “The Photoshoot” because I absolutely loved having the chance to have a second batch of “wedding” pictures taken of us. I lost 35 lbs since our wedding at that point and actually the first professional photo in the post made it into a local advertisement for our photographer in a publication called “Central Texas Engagements” We are on page 17 in the ad for “Legacy Imaging” (and on their homepage!)

5. What are your blogging goals for 2013?
1- get switched to WP before Blissdom
2- attend my first blog conference
3- have 3,000 subscribers by Dec 31
4- have at least one big name sponsor by the end of the year

I hope I can accomplish both. #3 will be a little hard since with WP you basically have to start over, and #4 is just a nice dream. I hope to someday be a Windows blogger like Neely!

6. Top 3 favorite blogs to follow?
Honestly, I read 3 blogs pretty regularly, and I BET you can guess who they are (cough cough Neely, Sarah, and Sar). Other than the 3 of them, I like Rags to Stitches, Design Darling, and Marcy’s Mustache. They’re all such different blogs, but all gorgeous ladies 🙂
