Thursday night Mathew and I met with Pastor Ron. Pastor Ron is a really special man to Mathew’s family (and soon to be very special to me). He married Mathew’s parents 27 years ago, has married Mathew’s aunt, and is about to marry us. He’s an incredibly sweet man and I’m so excited that he’s marrying us.

I have to admit, I was kind of nervous to meet Pastor Ron. I’d met him very quickly one day at church about a year ago when he was guest preaching at church (he retired from our church about 6 years ago but when our pastor is out, he comes and preaches) and I knew he was very sweet, but still I didn’t know what we’d be talking about at our meeting.

We jumped right into the introductions (well, Mathew just had to catch Pastor Ron up on his life) and then dove head first into ceremony talk. We figured out EVERYTHING! The order of the ceremony, who will be standing with who (and where), and all that other fun stuff.

(this is our church where we’ll have our ceremony btw)

We ended up spending 2 1/2 hours there and I felt SO much better once we left his house because I knew we were in good hands and everything will run smoothly at our ceremony. Mathew and I also left feeling incredibly excited. This task was one of the things we had to wait to do until the wedding got a lot closer and the time was FINALLY here! More and more we’re getting to do things now that we could only do when the time got closer, and it makes us so ready to get married!
