I’ve really been on a kick lately (ok, who am I kidding…since the beginning of wedding planning) for little details when it comes to wedding stuff.
As you all know, we’re planning on having a candy buffet, and I’m 99% sure I’m going to use glassine bags like these:
Not only that, though, I have been wanting something to customize them. Then it came to me…a stamp. Mathew and I picked the stamp below, and think it’ll go perfectly with our buffet. Even if I got white glassine bags, I could use a hot pink or purple stamp (to go with our theme) to stamp them (or I could have pink glassine bags with black ink).
My love for stamps though hasn’t stopped there. I also decided that I NEED a stamp for our Save the Dates (I refuse to write “STD” because it NEVER makes me think of “save the date”. Yeah, I’m real mature). Thing is, is it worth it to spend about $33 for a return address stamp that we won’t use after the wedding? I honestly just don’t want to have to write our address a million times on the Save the Dates. Yes, I’m trying to justify this purchase…I’m ridiculous.
Of course, we would only have our first names on the stamp, since we won’t be married yet. I need to make a decision fast though, because our pictures will be finished with editing soon and then we’ll be doing our Save the Dates. Hmm…if only I was rich. This would make everything so much easier!

Very cute! I too am all about the little things!
shana- glad i’m not the only one 😉 it makes things so much better!
Ya, if you had used “STD” I would have had no idea what you were talking about lol
PS – UALR is Maggie, I forgot to log out from my conference last week… my bad!
maggie- yeah i hate when people write STD. i get all grossed out and then remember what it stands for haha.
Yes very cute! I am looking to get those but in the brown kraft color for some small things in my wedding.
i love the brown kraft paper ones too. very cute 🙂 thanks for stopping by!
I love it, but think for the return address, you can print directly onto the envelopes or use a pre-made label. Some people think that’s tacky, but we did it, because we honestly didn’t have time and couldn’t afford a calligrapher.
I got married a year and a half ago, and I’m STILL in love with the bags we used for our buffet. It really is the little things sometimes!!
The stamps are REALLY cute! Maybe you could use your parents’ address for your returns and then use the stamps for Save the Dates, Invites and Thank Yous… we just got return address labels made with my parents’ address because we are moving in the near future.
ALSO, if/when you are ready to purchase your glasine bags, you should check out http://www.uline.com. I am using them for our favors and you can get about a million of them for SUPER cheap!!
heather- i hadn’t thought about those options! good thinking 🙂
layla- aww yay! do you have a picture of your bags?
lexi- yeah actually since i live at mathew’s parent’s house we’re using his parent’s address. I think that’s a great idea to use them for the thank yous also. Our invites will have it custom printed on the invitations (just because it’s part of the package) but I hadn’t thought about the thank yous also. and thanks for the uline recommendation! i’m going to go look right now!
hey! I just ordered a stamp last week from simon’s stamps online, I also checked out rubberstamps.net. I ended up having a problem with the stamp (though they are working to fix it) every time I used it…the sides smudged down around it…I dunno, it’s hard to explain. If you have questions you can email me, cause I’ve ordered 2 stamps online now.
I agree with heather..I think ..especially for the save the dates, you can print directly on the envelope and no one would think anything of it!
I think it’d be a great investment! It will look very cute and save so much time!
I just had postcards made for our Save the Dates so I didn’t have to worry about our return address, and for our invites we did wrap around labels so I just used a pretty font, and the return address was my sister’s since we were in the midst of moving.
I had a return address stamper made with our new address (won in a giveaway) so I am looking forward to using it on our Thank You’s!
