Towards the beginning of our wedding planning, I started having nightmares about the wedding. Just little things like forgetting my shoes, veil, and dress (all at the same time) all the way to having our wedding in a random church. I had a dream tonight though, and let me tell you- it was different.

Remember that lingerie shower I mentioned I was having next Saturday? I had a nightmare last night that Mathew’s mom decided we weren’t leaving Waco (our shower is in Corpus Christi, my hometown, about 5 hours away) until an hour before the shower! Well of course, we took the slowest route available and didn’t get to the shower until WAY after it started and all the guests (only 5 of them) had left. Some had left their presents, but most had gone. Cake was eaten, the hostesses (my cousin in law and her mom) were not happy with me either. All in all, it was an AWFUL dream!

I think the nightmare stemmed from this thought I created in my mind about what I’ve deemed as “the birthday party complex”. Basically, my mom always told me when I’d plan for birthday parties that I should invite way more people than I thought I wanted to because most likely 1/2 the people wouldn’t come.

I had this crazy thought in my mind last night that no one was going to come to the shower next week and I think it got the best of me. Needless to say, I’ll love it even if 5 people show up, but I hate not knowing who is attending. If you haven’t realized, I’ve got a type A personality and having no control over a party or something else dresses me out. I think this week I’ll make it a point to relax and not worry at all about this shower anymore.
