I’m one of those students that gets an “A” every time in English class for my writing skills on random papers. Usually, the words just come to me and I’m able to write a great paper in one sitting. I found this to be a little bit harder for me though once I sat down to write Thank You cards for my guests for the shower this weekend.
I know I still need to recap the shower but I’m waiting for my sister or FMIL to give me pictures. I haven’t seen ANY yet and it’s driving me nuts. But, I digress, I decided to write my Thank You cards and it was not easy trying to be original for each note.
Luckily though, a couple weeks ago I got these lovely cards in the mail from Brides Magazine.
Aren’t they cute? They are the blue patterned card with attachable 3-d “thank you” pieces. Though, the little squares that come with the pack to stick the “thank you” onto the card didn’t work, I was able to use tape and no one would ever know! I ended up making sure I wrote the usual information like making sure I put the exact item they got me and how I’d use it, but I did try to put personal touches.
I sent out most of my cards yesterday and I hope that people get a good sense of my appreciation! Anyone else have difficulties writing thank you cards?

I got those same cards too and my sticky things didn’t work either..I glued them all on one night. But perfect because navy is one of my wedding colors! I applaud you for being so proactive on writing your thank yous!!! 🙂

I’m the same! I can bust out an A paper in 3 hours, but I struggled bit time when writing my thank you cards! I just wanted them to be polite yet personal, and I was having a difficult time doing both!

i struggle with writing personal thank you notes to every person, also. i usually try to mention something that i spoke with the person about (at the party, shower, etc). i don’t know if that’s a correct thing to do. but for instance, i’ll thank them for the gift tell them how i’ll use it/where i’ll put it/etc, tell them how great it was to see them, mention our conversation in some way, and then end the note with a hope to see you soon type deal. but it is really hard!

I’m with Jasmine… I always tell how much I love/like the gift and say how it will come in handy! Love the cards! 🙂

Cards are cute! I think that writing thanks yous can feel tough because the writer wants to send to the reader a sense of true appreciation. That can be hard to put into words. You are also limited by space.

Those cards are adorable! I had the worst time writing my graduation thank you cards…I wanted to be personal in each one, but they ended up being basic iterations of each other. Thank you cards are a lot of work 🙂 I spread might out over lunch breaks for about two weeks!

Very nice! Love the pattern/color. It was fairly easy for me to pick out some thank you’s.. I won a giveaway for our cards and ordered a template for our thank you card photo cards. They were a hit!
