This post on H-E-B Curbside Grocery: A Mom’s Best Friend was sponsored on behalf of H-E-B. All opinions stated are my own.
Addie has been home nearly 2 years from the hospital after her 10 month stay, and our lives are busier than ever. Between therapy sessions, doctor appointments, my jobs with Young Living and blogging, Mathew’s job, trying to get to workouts, and attempting to put in some fun stuff in there, we’ve got a lot on our plates. One of my favorite things to do (and I swear I sound so old saying this), is go to H-E-B to just get out of the house for a bit and shop for groceries. I have a special meal planning and shopping list printable that I use so I am organized, too! Y’all- I go to H-E-B so much the cashiers know me.
As much as I enjoy going to H-E-B to spend a few moments to myself, sometimes our days are just too packed! I’m sure you other moms can relate, right? After a busy day, the last thing you want to do is go to the grocery store and take the time to shop and then cook dinner. Surely I’m not alone! Sometimes I’m not able to get to H-E-B until 6 or 7 depending on our day, and then by the time I’m home and make dinner, it’s already 8 or 8:30! Too late for Mathew and I, and by that time Addie has already eaten and gone to bed. I hate days like that.
Thankfully, H-E-B Curbside has opened near us and it’s been life changing for our family! I recently was invited by H-E-B to check out their Granbury location and finally try curbside for myself, and I was incredibly surprised at how easy the process was. I hadn’t utilized the curbside service at my local H-E-B because I thought the process might be complicated or they might not pick the produce the way I like it, so I loved getting the opportunity to try it!
All I had to do was go to the H-E-B Curbside website and I just typed in the products I needed. Everything was easy to locate and I liked that the website let me know if something was on sale or was a better price. There’s also the ability to shop by aisle if you’re perusing and not really sure what you’re wanting to grab for meals. Once I was done, I clicked to look over my cart, made sure everything was there that I needed, and then I reserved a time slot. Even better? The first 4 times you try H-E-B Curbside, you get the curbside service for FREE! Not too shabby!
I was able to find the Granbury H-E-B pretty easily thanks to my GPS and pulled up to an adorable store that was pretty busy! The parking lot was full and there were lots of people going in and out. It made me thankful that I was just having to use H-E-B Curbside because I didn’t want to have to go into an unfamiliar store and also deal with people. If you’ve never been to an H-E-B it’s pretty much the mecca in Texas. Not only does H-E-B provide groceries, but they have Texas Backyard (their gardening section with plants and beautiful outdoor furniture), a great household and kitchen selection, and my favorite, the healthy living aisle (so I can grab my Kombucha!)
The H-E-B Curbside section was on the far right of the parking lot and when I pulled in there was a number to text. I wasn’t sure if H-E-B had my phone number in their system or how it worked, but I saw some other customers with their windows down, so I went ahead and did the same. Within a couple of minutes a H-E-B partner came out and asked me for my name. He also let me know that one thing I purchased wasn’t in stock (90/10 hamburger patties) and asked if I wouldn’t mind 80/20 patties. A minor difference that I didn’t mind, whatsoever. He told me they would be back shortly with my groceries and had me sign for my order on a tablet. Super easy.
After maybe 5 minutes, another sweet H-E-B partner came to my car with all of my groceries. Since I was traveling to try the curbside at the Granbury H-E-B, I brought a cooler with ice for my meat and dairy. When choosing my groceries online I made sure to put a note at the bottom stating that I was coming from out of town and would have a cooler, so the H-E-B partner knew that already and had all my items separated perfectly for me. She put everything neatly into my cooler and trunk, and that was all I needed!
H-E-B Curbside service ended up being way easier and insanely less stressful than I thought it would be. When I came home, I immediately started unloading my groceries and made dinner. All my produce was as perfect as I would have chosen myself, and my whole order was correct. I love going to H-E-B and taking my time in the store for some quiet time, but I definitely will be utilizing this service again for busy days when I don’t have the time to run in the store. I already started my next order!
I am dying for this to start at the HEB by my house!
Ohhhhhh I need this so bad. I am so anti-social girl that I do not want to go into the supermarket. Or days when I am in a rush after work, and I just want to be out 1-2-3. Maybe they’ll start doing it over in NY. We don’t have an H-E-B but maybe it’ll expand!
When I first read Granbury, I thought “That’s a lot closer to me, than it is you!” Glad you enjoyed it. I just need my HEB to offer Curbside!
