Here’s the thing- I was an 80’s baby and a 90’s kid.
So many of my influences now revolve around my time back then. There’s something so fun about reliving my memories through music, hair, games, and fashion. Things like Girl Talk (remember the zit stickers?!) , Troll dolls, Saved by the Bell, scrunchies, bright colored neon clothes, Power Rangers, and NKOTB bring me back to a time when I was so very young and innocent to all the crazy things in the world.
But my favorite thing EVER from being a 90’s kid?
JELLYS!
A couple years ago I managed to find some clear jelly flats and wore them until they started coming apart. Then, I found some cute jelly-like t-strap sandals about 2 summers ago, and to be honest…I still wear them. BUT there’s something so fun about legit, authentic, classic jellys.
I got some of the Clear Sparkles Jellys from Jelly Beans and wore them to church on Sunday. I seriously have NOT ever gotten so many compliments on shoes as I did on Sunday. EVERYONE (I even had a friend’s husband) tell me “YOUR SHOES ARE AWESOME!” The outfit I wore that day is for a later date, but then it got me thinking…how can I revive the 80’s and 90’s and bring back such a classic piece of fashion from the time while not looking silly?!
Then it dawned on me- take my Jellys to the pool or the beach because they’re easy to slip on/wash, or go vintage-modern style (I mean..I am the Vintage Modern Wife) and totally get inspired by the “vintage” 80s and 90’s (I use it in quotes because I feel like vintage is much older than the 80’s) .
So here’s my take on revamping the 80’s and 90’s while still looking trendy:
I think that putting the clear sparkle jellys with the bright (almost neon) Jessica Simpson top and skinnies really gives that 80’s vibe in a more recent way for this decade. It brings me back to my childhood without me actually looking like a child!
I also felt like the sparkle jellys could really go with just about anything that I wear. Jelly Beans has TONS of different colors, but I always had clear ones as a kid, so those were the ones that “spoke” to me.
So what do y’all think about jellys and Jelly Beans? How would YOU style them? Sound off in the comments!

The zoo! So awesome. I’ve only been to a really small zoo in the past few years. It has a white tiger, but nothing else big. It’s cool, but no giraffes or elephants!
I’m not looking forward to back to school, either. I’ll be student teaching and I’m really nervous! Best of luck with your back to school.

Ahahaha, clearly my earlier comment was meant to be on the H+C day! I wonder how that happened….
I had a pair of platform jellies in middle school and thought they were the super awesomest thing.
