When you meet another blogger that you’ve followed for a while, things can go one of two ways: 1) everything turns out even more awesome than you thought and you connect with that blogger on a really high level, or 2) they turn out to be not what you expected and it’s awkward.

Honestly, I really don’t think there’s a medium between those two, which is why I tend to get a bit nervous when I meet other bloggers, especially those whose blogs I’ve been reading for a while. Y’all know I love blogger meet ups. I’ve met some amazing people from it: Neely, Sar, Sarah, Laura, Becka, Jenn, Kristen, Shanna, Savanah, and now…Taylor!

Taylor tweeted me Monday and asked where I lived because she thought we should meet sometime. She is only an hour and a half away from me so I told her I’d be happy to do dinner or hang out on the weekend any time. Turns out, Tuesday worked perfectly for her, and she was free to come for dinner!

Taylor and I at Ninfa’s!

Of course, I had to ask Sar where she thought I should take Taylor, and Ninfa’s ended up being the restaurant of choice. Taylor and I met at 7 and hit it off right away! We stayed until the restaurant closed at 9:30, and then stayed outside in the parking lot talking and sharing fun stories until 10:30. I’ve found a great friend in Taylor and I’m so happy that talking with her was so fluid and easy. We talked about random blogging, bloggers we love, companies we love working with, switching to WordPress, crazy families, and a ton more stuff. I had SO much fun chatting with Taylor all evening and I can’t wait to hang out with her again soon!

Although I was initially nervous about our meet up, I’m really glad we met up sooner rather than later. Y’all know I am going to Blissdom this year, and the closer it gets, I feel the need to meet with more bloggers to really just branch out of my comfort zone. If you’re wondering whether or not you should get together with bloggers in your area, follow my lead and GO FOR IT. Meeting bloggers is SO worth it and SO much fun.
