Taking care of yourself is a major must in the months before your wedding. Every bride wants gorgeous, shiny hair, a flawless face, and a brilliant smile. Therefore, I have pulled together 4 of my favorite items that I’ll be using in the months before my wedding and on the day of! Enjoy!
1. Ken Paves Self Help Hydrophobicity Enhancing Shampoo ($20) and Conditioner ($22) from shopkenpaves.com This shampoo and conditioner was sent to me by celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves, himself. I won a contest of his (and now have forged a little online friendship with him) and so I was sent several products from his line. Not only are these products sulfate free, they are made with all natural ingredients (made with 100% essential oils), are color preserving, and last a really long time. I’ve gone several months using one bottle of each, and I still have lots left! Ken definitely knows hair, which is why Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria, Nicole Richie, and Lady Gaga (as well as many other celebs) have put their faith in him to do their hair. I promise, this stuff does NOT disappoint. Not only is my hair longer now because these have strengthened my hair so much, but my hair color has not turned brassy or faded!
2. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer with SPF 15($42) from sephora.com
For years I’ve been in love with Smashbox’s Photo Finish Foundation Primer. Use it after your moisturizer and before your foundation for a silky smooth finish. It doesn’t feel oily on the skin, and evens everything out. Even if you think you have a pretty smooth face, you’ll be AMAZED at what this product can do for you. I’ll definitely be using this on my wedding day so my pictures look flawless! It also comes in a non-spf version, as well as many options of tinted primers in order to reduce redness, fix color balance, or help conceal. If you’re not sure about spending so much on it (and trust me, half a pump will be enough for your face), than consider getting a sample tube for $5 or so when you stop into a Sephora sometime!
3. MAC Pro Longwear Lustre Lipcolour ($22) maccosmetics.com
If you’re anything like me, your lipstick doesn’t normally last all day. I use MAC Pro Longwear Lustre Lipcolour almost on a daily basis. It lasts through eating meals, talking all day long, and drinking drinks. They have a wide variety of colors to choose from, and the gloss that goes on top is so silky! I plan on using this on the big day because I’ll hate to have to keep reapplying lipstick all day for pictures. Now, I won’t have to worry the whole day!
4. Crest White Strips ($25-40) Available at any grocery store
I’ve had a love for Crest White Strips since my Sophomore year of high school. Back in 2002 these babies had been out for about a year, and I was sick of not having white teeth. After using one box, my life was changed. Nevermore have my teeth been yellow (in fact, I’ve been asked if I only eat white foods and drink clear liquids…SERIOUSLY) and I plan on having pearly whites for my wedding day. They’re easy to put on your teeth, stick to your teeth well, and whiten really quickly. It’s alot cheaper than going to a pro, and frankly, the results are just as good! I’ll probably use half a box before our engagement pictures, and then another half box a week before the wedding just to make sure my teeth are extra bright. If you’ve never tried them you definitely should!
I hope you all try some of these products, because they’ve definitely changed my life. I would only want the best for my wedding day, and I know you ladies are too, so check them out! If you have already used some of these products, feel free to
