I love green monster smoothies, and I blame it all on Neely. The first time I went to go visit her at her house, she made me her specialty green monster smoothie. I was HOOKED immediately. Now, I have fun changing up what I put in my smoothies, but here’s my favorite that I go back to time and time again. It’s full of vitamins, fiber, and nutrients, and it’s perfect for that post-workout craving.
Scrumptious Green Monster Smoothie
Calories: 120 per serving
Servings: 2
Ingredients:
1 large handful of spinach leaves
4 strawberries
1 ripe banana
2 rings of pineapple cut into chunks
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 cup water
1 tsp cinnamon
Splenda (to taste)
3-4 ice cubes
1 tbsp Chia seeds (optional)
Directions:
Pour all ingredients in blender except splenda. Blend until completely smooth. Taste and add Splenda if needed (depends on ripeness of fruit).
Let me know if you make it and how much you enjoy it! Feel free to really take this and make it your own. You really can’t go wrong here!
I love my green monsters! I usually make them with out the milk and use unsweetened green tea. Sometimes I throw whatever fruit or berries in too. Yesterday it was on the brown and purple side with all the blueberries I threw in. Thanks for the chia tip seeds. I’m obsessed!

I need to get to Whole Foods to buy some chia seeds! Everyone talks about how good they are for you but don’t change the taste of what you are eating. Sounds good to me!

The last time I tried a smoothie with spinach, all I could taste was the spinach. No good. I’ll have to try our your recipe, see if I can manage to drink more than a sip!

I usually juice, but the last time I made a smoothie.. I added spinach, banana, peaches, cucumber, a tiny bit of apple juice,… um I don’t even remember but I know there was Chia seeds. The first time I ever made a smoothie it was a disaster! Tasted like I threw in a bowl of salad.. no joke. It was chunky too.

I made one once… maybe I didn’t make it correctly… but I didn’t like it! There were still big pieces of spinach in it. It was such a mental thing. It didn’t taste good at all!
