Sometimes a long holiday work week just doesn’t cut it. Mathew and I feel as though this week is already dragging, and it’s already Hump Day. Sometimes you just need a pick me up to get you through to the weekend.
It’s not that we have rough days- just TIRING days. Mathew and I are on our feet ALL day and it can make us exhausted. So, we started coming up with a few things to do during the week to help us feel a little pampered.
1. Give yourself an at home food spa: It’s not fancy, but turn the water in your tub on hot or warm, throw in a bath bomb, and just sit on the edge and soak your feet. I really enjoy doing this with Mathew because we can just sit and talk about our day while we relax. I also turn on our paraffin wax and we moisturize our feet. It’s glorious.
2. Eat out! I’m not gonna lie, as much as I love cooking, sometimes you just need to get out and have someone else cook for a change. If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll know that Mathew and I can’t get enough of Chuy’s Happy Hour because we LOVE their free chip bar. Free queso, salsa, and creamy jalapeno?! What more can you want for a relaxing weekday night?
3. Craft your heart out: I’ve taken up a new endeavor in making tulle wreaths as a little side job. As much as it’s a “job” it’s actually a lot of fun. I enjoy sitting at our table cutting and tying tulle while we watch Lost. If you’re interested in a wreath, email me! Here’s my latest creation for another blogger:
4. When all else fails, make a spritzer! We’re known to have a good spritzer or sangria at our house. Our favorite is a Lemon Berry Sangria Spritzer!
You need:
Pitcher & Wooden Spoon
Frozen bag mixed berries
Bottle of your favorite Moscato
1/2 bottle Central Market Italian Soda in Sicilian Lemon
1/2 bottle Ozarka® Brand Sparkling Natural Spring Water in Raspberry-Lime Essence
Mix the Moscato, Italian Soda, and the Ozarka® Brand Sparkling Natural Spring Water in Raspberry-Lime Essence together. Stir with wooden spoon. Add 1/3 bag of frozen (not thawed) mixed berries. Stir and allow to chill for at least 30 minutes. Serve!

LOVING the wreath and I totally would want one but we live in an old, downtown Hotel and all of our doors are inside and I wouldn’t want someone taking my wreath. I’m gonna have to show this to my fiance and see if he thinks we could make a place inside or just get one for football season or something! You may just be hearing from me soon.. and PS- I’m loving the Sangria recipe! YUM
