I Never Ever Ever….
– want to use my laptop again. It’s a piece of junk and I’m so ready for a desktop. I’m curious though- what do y’all use? I’ve had 2 laptops and they’ve both gone to crud. I’m just wondering if it’s a better buy to get a desktop.
– feel like I can be out from work. I am sick AGAIN (what’s new?!) and I just feel like I have too many things for me to be out. Am I the only person that feels like this? Am I over committed?
– can stop cracking up at this video from Clinton Kelly about leggings as pants. Y’all know I’m “anti-leggings as pants” and this just solidifies my view. Hey- Clinton knows his STUFF.
I can’t stand legging as pants either. I don’t get why people think that it’s okay. Unless you are going running or for some other workout or even wearing them underneath your clothes in cold weather, I don’t see the point.

Ohhh I feel your pain, my allergies are kicking my butt. I hope you feel better quick, fast, and in a hurry. You definitely sound like me though, hate to miss work, stressed about schedules, worried about sub plans. Been there, done that. Remember, in order to take care of your students, you must take care of YOU. GET WELL SOON!!!!!!

I’m sick too but also have the problem of having too much to do to be sick!
I also go back and forth about which is better to have the laptop or desktop… I’ve had my laptop for 5 years now and its still going good. Its an HP and haven’t really had any problems {knock on wood} but I think a desktop would be nice for storage and a permanent place to do work. But right now I like the portability of my laptop. Good luck deciding!!!
Feel better soon!!!

I’ve had great luck with HP laptops, as long as they aren’t refurbished! I definitely like a desktop for work/productivity. And OMG, I can’t miss work either. And that completely stinks…

I just know I can’t pull off the leggings as pants. Nor do I want to!

I use a Macbook. I’ve had it for 3.5 years, and never had an issue. When I had a PC, I was getting a new one just about every 1.5 years. Macs are expensive, but definitely worth it, in my opinion.
I love that PSA from Clinton. So funny!!

A teacher friend of mine was telling me recently how she was CONSTANTLY sick her first year teaching. I guess because she hadn’t built up the resistance to all the germs the kids carry. Sorry you’re not feeling well though– I’m sure it’s super hard to stand on your feet all day and teach while feeling crummy. 🙁

I hate missing work, mostly because I hate writing sub plans. BUT, (i’m kind of a vetran at this teaching thing) you need to take care of you! The rest of your stuff can wait. People will understand. I promise. I also understand that there are somethings you really can’t miss, but don’t stress yourself out! You’ll never get better!
