Top Travel Friendly Toys for Toddlers

If you follow me on Facebook and Instagram you may have read about our little air conditioning incident on Saturday. Mathew had to head to his deer lease because he hasn’t been there in about 2 years and is actually planning to hunt this year since Addie is home from the hospital. The deer lease is about two hours away and I was happy to let Mathew have time with his dad to get everything ready for deer season…that is, until I realized that our air conditioning went out. I promptly freaked out because I’ve never had any kind of household emergency with Addie, and I texted our landlord so we could get someone to fix our air immediately. Then I called my mother-in-law and begged her to come save us. Addie has an oxygen concentrator that runs 24 hours a day and generates oxygen for her. It makes our house pretty warm, so with the concentrator running and no air conditioning, we were boiling. I had to throw extra supplies in a luggage in case we were going to have to spend the night at my in-laws’ house, and grabbed a bag full of travel friendly toys from Playskool for Addie.

Addie has many supplies that we have to take with us if she has to be somewhere longer than a few hours, and we had actually never taken her out to someone else’s house until Saturday when the air went out. She has her concentrator, ventilator, ventilator stand, oxygen tank (for the car), pulse oximeter, suction bag, trach supply bag, ambu bag, and then I filled our luggage with a ton of diapers, bottles, medicine, medicine syringes, feeding bag, feeding pump, clothes, and bath stuff. Not to mention, I had to grab her pack and play in case we were spending the night. If they help her reach, pull, pick up, etc then they’re on my list to be a good therapy toy. Thankfully, we didn’t end up having to spend the night at my in laws’ house. Although we had a blast visiting our family, there’s no place like home, and our own beds. All of our stuff was easy to pack and haul back over to our house, which made lugging everything very painless.
