Isn’t the rehearsal dinner supposed to be not stressful at all? Because, this is definitely stressful.

Our wedding is in 6 months (and approx 2 days) and places are already starting to get booked. The place we originally wanted- BOOKED. The place we ate for dinner tonight? Great at lunch time, not so great at dinner time.

In fact, I’m not really sure what the deal was tonight at my fave hot spot. Sure, our waitress was a girl that I used to work with (well, kinda. she was the secretary at our main office) and yeah, I felt bad for her because she had to be my waitress. But our food taking forever and then being cold? Not cool. I lied to the fam and told them my food was hot just because I felt bad for my friend the waitress and I didn’t want to complain. Fact is, I was kinda embarrassed that I talked up the food to be extra yummy and then it was subpar. I’m never EVER picky at restaurants, but I could see the expression on the fam’s faces and I knew I would never want to see my Grandma or Aunt’s face that way. I really thought this place was THE place for our rehearsal dinner, and it definitely ended up not being it at ALL.

Needless to say, we’re still on the hunt. Mathew says he doesn’t really care where it is (yet he wants me to discuss reception decor?!), so I’m kind of trying to figure this out with Mathew’s mom.

I’ll definitely let you all know how it goes. Why does something that sounds so simple have to be so much work?
