I love Texas. When I say love, I mean LOVE. But one thing I don’t love? Freaking Texas allergies that come with the crazy weather in the Fall. Mix that in with those darn kiddo germs, and well, y’all know I’ve been sick pretty much the last 2 months. Thankfully, with the help of some medicine and Kleenex facial tissue, I’ve been perking back up!

My couch has pretty much looked like this the past couple of weeks:

It’s ridiculous how much I need to help me feel better.  Pillows and blankets are a must, throat lozenges, vitamins, medicine of all forms (allergy, flu, antibiotics), hot tea, a regular box of Kleenex facial tissue, and a wallet pack of Kleenex (you know, for when I can actually peel myself off of the couch for a second). My allergies get pretty bad up in here, and my students are ALWAYS giving me whatever sickies they have. It’s the curse of being a first year teacher. I love my job, but hate the germs because I am constantly dying! Mathew has been wonderful taking care of me though every time I get sick. I’m thankful that he’s so caring, and is a good nurse when I feel like death. Our stack of medicines and Kleenex pretty much stay on the couch or the coffee table, just because the second I put it up, I get sick again.

Mathew and I went to Target this weekend and got the Kleenex facial tissue 4 pack to stock up our house because we just had another Texas storm this Saturday night that blew in tons of crazy allergy stuff. We both get really bad allergies, so we got the 4 pack of Kleenex facial tissue so I could put it all around the house for the two of us, and I could take the Kleenex Wallet Pack to my classroom.

I strategically placed Kleenex facial tissue all around the apartment- the couch/coffee table, my night stand, each bathroom, and even have a box right by our new computer.  I actually wish I’d had the Kleenex wallet pack with me for my Color Me Rad 5k this weekend, because on our way home from the run, I sneezed from all the colored cornstarch that had been thrown in my face, and you could see all the cornstarch flying everywhere in the car! As funny as I thought it was, I also thought it was kind of gross- because it was almost like showing exactly where all my germs were going! Isn’t that nasty to think about? Next color run, I’m definitely taking my Kleenex wallet pack with me too.

If you haven’t noticed already, Kleenex is one of those “household staples” in our home. Not only do we keep it around for allergy season, but we keep it all over the house year round. Even when we have guests arrive for the weekend, I’m known to put out a tray with water bottles, snacks, magazines, remote controls, and you guessed it- a box of Kleenex facial tissue. I think it’s just one of those necessities that everyone likes having around just in case. Plus, it doesn’t hurt your nose when you’ve got that watery allergy-stricken nose!
