The Magic Adventures Telescope is just another amazing product to add to the list filled with exciting, comprehensive STEAM adventure to fuel kids’ galactic journeys.
Upon unboxing, we found that the telescope needed assembly. With easy instructions, it only took a few minutes to put together. The telescope is sturdy yet light enough that my son could move it around where needed. Once the telescope was assembled and turned on, it went through how to use it. Kids can easily focus on the short tutorial and then get to playing!
Unlike a traditional telescope with an eyepiece, the Magic Adventures Telescope includes a digital screen. The digital screen makes it easy for children to see what the telescope is pointed at without needing to look through the eyepiece. We loved this because it made it easier to view all the different modes alongside our son.
The LeapFrog Magic Adventures Telescope has several different modes, which make learning about the solar system incredibly simple, yet enjoyable. The various modes are as follows:
Telescope Mode: In Telescope Mode, kids are able to use the telescope in the traditional sense. Point the telescope into the sky, focus the lens, and take a look around at the stars and planets outside. We really enjoy this on clear nights. It’s a great way to spark discussion on our solar system.
Explore Mode: In Explore Mode, kids are able to choose from six categories of images and videos created by NASA. They are able to learn about planets, the moon, the sun, and more through interactive pictures and videos. My son really loved this while waiting for it to get dark outside.
Game Mode: In this game, kids learn to steer a spacecraft to various locations in the solar system. The game has 27 levels! While playing, kids reboot data robots and satellites in an effort to reach Mission Control. If your child enjoys video games, they’ll have a blast with this, just like mine did!
Quiz Mode: LeapFrog products love to highlight educational fun in their products. In Quiz Mode kids identify images they discovered in Explore Mode in order to help get the best score possible.
Gallery Mode: If your budding astronomer loves taking pictures, visit the gallery to look at all the pictures they have taken on their telescope!
I am really impressed with the LeapFrog Magic Adventures Telescope. The included digital learning content truly complements the real telescope mode. Because of this, kids are equipped to understand what they actually observe in the night sky.
