Last week, I got the best news at work: we were getting free tickets to a Rangers baseball game from one of my coworkers. Let me preface this story by telling you that Mathew and I love baseball. We don’t get to go to many games because they’re an hour and a half drive, so when we make the trip, it’s a big deal for us.

We decided to take Mathew and our friends Adam and Austin and our other friends Lauren and Jeremy on the trip. These two couples are the closest to us. I don’t have many friends in Waco other than friends from school (but I only hang out with one of them out of school time), but Lauren and Austin are the girlies I like to share my fun, interesting, and crazy life stories with. It seemed fitting to take them.

It’s been raining since Friday, and I’d pretty much prayed that the rain would stop so we could enjoy the game. Even as we got in the car, the rain just kept on comin’. We got all the way to the stadium, and saw tons of people drenched.

By the way, can you tell me why people go to sporting events during rain and don’t bring a poncho or umbrella?! Makes no sense!

Anyway, the wet people made us decide to skip the game (only later to find out that our seats were covered and we would’ve been fine! Grr!) and we drove across Dallas to the Cheesecake Factory.

Even though it was a long meal at the restaurant it was fun 🙂

Afterwards, the girls and guys split up! Us girls went to the Container Store while the guys went to Barnes and Noble. Let me tell you something- going to the Container Store is dangerous! I wanted everything in sight, and I’m pretty sure Austin and Lauren did too. Thankfully, we all showed restraint and I was the only person that got something. In my defense, it’s for my shop!

After hanging out at the stores, we decided to all it a day and head home. I wish we had done more, but all the driving had us exhausted. I definitely need to take another trip with these friends soon!
