Today is Mathew’s last day of work at Enterprise. With several job prospects and a couple offers, we’re nervous but excited. To be honest, Addie and I haven’t spent much time with Mathew this past year. Work took him away for over 12 hours a day and his commute is an hour each way. It hasn’t been easy. I’m excited for our weekend to start, because Mathew will have some space in between finishing his job and starting a new one. This means we can do some fun things and enjoy our time as a family for once. It’s going to be the first time we will have more than a weekend of just us together, and I’m so thrilled. I have big plans for our week (other than hitting up Disney Social Media Moms On the Road for half a day by myself) like getting snow cones as a family, making dinner together, and going for our first family outing out of town for Disney Screen.

What’s Disney Screen?

Starting today, Disney is launching a BRAND NEW concept called Disney Screen. It’s only testing in 6 different markets and thankfully, Plano is one of them. Disney Screen will have a membership program that will ensure that whenever you go to the movies, you’ll always have a fun, family option! It’ll host 4 classic Disney movies each day. Lucky for us, the Cinemark 24 in Plano is hosting Disney Screen and throughout August they’ll have different themes each week including Disney Music, Disney Dogs, Pixar, and Disney Animals!

How much does it cost?

Awesomely enough, Disney Screen comes with different admission options for quarterly, monthly, weekly or daily passes. Each pass admits one person. We got a family 4 pack with a monthly admission so Mathew, Addie, a nurse, and myself could go!

o Quarterly – $40, Unlimited admission for three months

o Monthly – $20, Unlimited admission for one month

o Weekly – $10, Unlimited admission for seven days

o Daily – $5, 4 Movies, One Great Day!

Addie doesn’t go out in public too much, and we will of course take all the precautions needed for her when we go. Our plan? To go on a day and time that is the least busy so we don’t have to worry about little kid germs. Also? We’ll carry hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes for our chairs, and all of Addie’s necessary supplies like her pulse oximeter, extra trachs, suction machine, ventilator, and ambu bag. We’re trying to live our lives as normal as possible, especially while it’s not respiratory season. As long as we take precautions, we can lead as much of a normal life as we’d like! I’m not sure which Disney movie we’ll introduce her to first, but I love all the options from Music Week next week!

The great folks behind Disney Screen wanted to share this fun opportunity with one of our Texas readers. We want to gift one lucky person with a Family Four Pack August Monthly Pass to the Disney Screen located in Plano!

The Breastfeeding Mom’s Survival Kit

The Breastfeeding Mom's Survival Kit is perfect for any mom needing a pick-me-up! Perfect for a tired mom needing some relief!

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and healthy mama® , but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #gethealthymama http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
I’ve been exclusively pumping for Addison for almost 11 months now. Some days are easy, and some days I just need to get away from my pump. Breastfeeding and exclusively pumping are some of the hardest things to have to do for your baby, mainly because of the demand. No demand…no supply. It can get rough. It’s also pretty monotonous. Addie gets a bottle every 4 hours, which means every 3.5 hours I’m sitting in a chair pumping so I can feed her. It gets BORING and flat out exhausting, but I want Addie to have the best nutrition possible, so I willingly do it. My goal is to hit one year, but to be honest, I may try to get through respiratory season this Fall/Winter to help her immune system even more. I went to Wal-Mart and found some awesome products from healthy mama® and decided to make myself a little breastfeeding mom’s survival kit to keep by my bed in case I just need a moment to myself.

– Freeman Face Masks

– Chocolate

– US Weekly Magazine (a personal favorite)

– Lactation Support Salve (made with my fennel and basil Young Living Essential Oils)

– healthy mama® Shake That Ache! pain reliever

I love the healthy mama® Boost it Up for just giving me a little extra energy when I honestly don’t want to pump because I’m exhausted. I snagged the pomegranate and cherry flavor and it doesn’t taste “vitamin-y” at all! I also am loving their Shake That Ache pain reliever, because I’m very cautious with what I put into my body when I’m not feeling my best. healthy mama® is the first brand to offer pregnant and nursing mamas a complete line of safe and effective wellness solutions for those times when they feel a little less than stellar. They even have a fact sheet up on their website for those breastfeeding moms that want extra piece of mind. The face masks, chocolate, and lip balm are for those days when I absolutely need to de-stress and want to pamper myself. Of course, I threw in a good magazine (who doesn’t love a little Kardashian drama?), and my Lactation Support Salve so I can ensure that my milk supply stays up. It’s the PERFECT breastfeeding moms survival kit!

My sweet friend just moved back into town recently and breastfeeds her adorable little baby girl. My plan is to share my love for all these goodies and make her a welcome back basket because I love mine so much. It would be absolutely perfect to help her feel right at home!

Quick 5 Minute Hairstyles For the Mom On the Go

This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Goody, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #GoodyGorgeous http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

I’m gonna be really honest with you guys- I HATE doing my hair. HATE it. It’s naturally curly, and although many would “kill” for my hair type, I don’t like it one bit. I can’t just wake up in the morning most days and get it to look right without it taking up a good chunk of time. I’m on a schedule in the mornings – wake up, pump, shower (or not on some days), fix my hair quickly, pack my pump parts, lunch, and clothes for Addie, and run out the door. I always try to get to the NICU as early as possible, and that can be hard with my challenging hair. Lately I’ve been doing these 3 quick 5 minute hairstyles for the mom on the go so I look put together enough to talk to doctors all day, but I’m not in front of my mirror for an hour in the morning.

The Goody QuikStyle Brush is perfect for the mom on the go!I went to Walgreens after being at the hospital the other week to grab my essentials (deodorant, toothpaste, etc) and saw that they have a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Goody TangleFix and Quikstyle hairbrush deal now until November 1st, 2014 (while supplies last) if you have a Walgreens Balance Rewards card.  I snagged my brushes and wanted to try them out. The Quikstyle half round hairbrush has super absorbent microfiber bristles that work like a towel removing 30% of water, while the shape makes it the perfect blow-out brush. I initially use it out of the shower to detangle my hair and then let my hair air dry. Then, I use it to help style my quick 5 minute hairstyles.

The Goody Tanglefix that comes with the Quikstyle is my favorite brush for coming out of the shower because my curly hair gets so tangled. It has 3 different bristle lengths to get out tangles without ripping my hair and has easy grip sides so the brush isn’t coming out of my wet hands. Then I do a once over with my Quikstyle and I’m good to go!

This fun bun takes less than 5 minutes for the mom on the go and all you need is this Goody Quikstyle brush, 2 hair ties, and a few bobby pins! This blogger makes it look easy!

The Fun Bun is my most commonly done hairstyle. If I wake up with frizzy hair all I have to do is use my Goody Quikstyle half round hairbrush to give a little volume on top, then I secure my hair into a ponytail. Then, I wrap my ponytail into a donut shape, and put another hair tie on top to hold all my loose hair. I don’t need bobby pins at all, and it stays ALL day.

This simple chignon is SO easy with the Goody Quikstyle brush and a few bobby pins! It's a perfect quick 5 minute hairstyle for the mom on the go

The Simple Chignon is another favorite quick 5 minute hairstyle of mine because it reminds me of Izzie from Grey’s Anatomy. I twist the side of my hair into a low ponytail, and then pull my ponytail through the middle to create more of a twist. I then grab the ends of my hair in the ponytail and roll my hair up and pin with bobby pins in place. Then, I use my Goody Quikstyle to smooth out any frizzies to finish the job.

This simple twisted pony is fun and flirty with the Goody Quikstyle brush and a few bobby pins! It's a perfect quick 5 minute hairstyle for the mom on the goLastly, the Twisted Pony is my other go-to quick 5 minute hairstyle. I twist the top and side of my hair, use my Goody Quikstyle brush to smooth my hair into a ponytail, and wrap a 1 inch section of hair around my hair tie and tuck the ends of that section back into my hair tie so it’s all secure.

The Goody Quikstyle is such a time-saver for me because it helps my hair dry as I brush, and the microfibers don’t make my hair frizz. I can spend 5 minutes (or less) on my hair and get to Addie in the NICU faster each morning. Our lives are crazy right now, and anything that makes my day go more smoothly I’m all for!

If you’re a mom on the go wanting to spend less time on your hair but have it look nice, I urge you to try these out! Want to follow Goody? Check them out on Tumblr, Facebook, and Pinterest!
