Around March I realized that I was going to want graduation announcements to send to family and friends. The thing is- I kind of hate graduation invitations for college  because they’re so boring. They look formal and stiff, and as a future teacher, I’m anything BUT stiff.

I wanted graduation announcements that were fun, unique, and had a picture or two of me on them (kind of like a high school graduation announcement). Usually my first instinct when finding unique stuff is to hit up Etsy.

Olive Lane

I came across this adorable shop, Ink’d Designs (but she’s rebranding and changing over to her new shop, Olive Lane), and their custom announcements. I LOVED the shape of the invitations, the pretty fonts, and the bright colors. They were everything I was looking for. I sent in my pictures, what I wanted them to say, and what I wanted. Amy, the owner, was MORE than willing to give me exactly what I wanted.

The awesome graduation pictures were taken (of course) by the lovely Sar, and can you believe it- were shot in just a couple minutes outside of a bar downtown! I was iffy on the location because I’m one of those people that can’t see the big picture/vision, but ended up LOVING how they turned out. The location worked perfectly.

Which did I pick for my announcement?

I wished I’d been able to get better pictures, but my invitations were on pearlized paper so any light I put on the paper to take pictures reflected on them. The fonts are much brighter in person. I got SO many compliments on them and I’m glad everyone loved them.

Overall, I’m incredibly happy with the way they turned out and I’m so glad the process was easy and Amy was so accommodating. I hope you’ll visit Olive Lane at their website and on Instagram if you’re considering getting some custom invitations or announcements made. I’m really impressed with them!
