HAPPIES
1. I got my car on Tuesday! I mentioned it yesterday, but you know- I’m excited. It’s exactly what my blissdom friend, Amber, said…it’s like a spaceship! There are so many buttons lol.
2. I have some great friends. I was really bummed about Crappy #1 and they made me feel better. I heart them.
3. I sent out my graduation invitations this week to family and friends (though I still have 10 more I need to mail out but I’m out of envelopes..oops!) and got this lovely picture in return from Ashley:
4. My dad always has good words of wisdom when I really need them. Yesterday’s? “God will only give you the best. For some reason He felt He needs your talents somewhere else. So watch what great things He will do for you because He loves you just like we do. He needs for you to trust Him. So go out tonight and celebrate with a dinner and a drink. Don’t be sad. He has something better coming for you. What you see through your eyes is only the small picture.”
CRAPPIES
1. That job I was so excited to interview for the other week? Totally didn’t get the job. The principal called me last night and told me that they went with someone with more experience. The thing about job hunting? I feel like no one wants to give a new person “experience” because they always go with someone with “more experience”. *sigh* I’m a bit crushed even though I said I wouldn’t put my eggs in one basket.
2. I’m still SO tired all the freaking time. I really need to get back into eating better again and working out more. This student teaching has me so exhausted that I’ll be glad to have a little break to get back at it all. Maybe it’ll help.
3. I posted hardly anything this week. I’ve been slacking and I really need to make up for it. Hopefully next week I’ll be able to come up with more posts. With that, I’ve been a terrible commenter to blogs I read. I really need to work on that.
4. I caught a glimpse of the West Memorial yesterday while I was at the doctor’s office. It was so sad to see so many caskets.
Some weeks, there are more happies than crappies, but this week there seem to be equal of both. I don’t know if it’s because I’m bummed about the job so I’m choosing to be negative or what, but yeah. But hey- that’s what Happies and Crappies is all about…keeping it real despite the bad.
Now it’s YOUR turn to link up for Happies and Crappies!

I am sorry to hear that you didnt get the job, but your dad is definitely right. And thank you for sharing his words, I really needed to hear them too 🙂
Yay for new car!!
Thanks for hosting this link up, I really enjoy it and it forces me to pick out the good in my week when I feel like I am having a bad one.

I’m a teacher, too, and let me say, it gets better. This is my 7th year, and just about year 5, I figured things out. As long as you’re enjoying yourself while you’re doing it, you can work through the tiredness. 🙂
I can also totally relate to your crappy #1. After college, I moved to NYC to join the NYC Teaching Fellowship. It’s like Teach for America but specific to NYC. Anyway, we had intense grad school work through the summer 2006, and then by August 2006, we were all supposed to start a new job (that we had to find ourselves with zero experience). I started applying to every open position, no matter the borough. When the school year started, I didn’t have a position, so the program placed me into a temporary spot in a 6-12 school in the lower East side. The ultimatum? Find a position by December 1, or we kick you out of the program, and you give us back our part of your graduate school tuition. I went on at least 25 interviews, all over NYC, and you know when I got my FIRST offer? November 27. Right down to the wire. It was super frustrating! So I completely understand where you’re coming from. 🙂
Congrats on your car! I’m off to write my H&C post for the week, too. Even though I’m supposed to be getting ready for work right now. Ah, oh well. Happy Friday!

This is my first week linking up and I’m excited! I know how you feel about people not wanting to give you experience. It’s what I faced right out of college and I’ll be facing it again next year – I’m student teaching in the fall and (hopefully!) getting my certification and master’s degree in December! I felt like I just dealt with being the new kid a couple of years ago, and now I’ll get to do it all over again.

Sorry about the job. I am so terrified of the same thing. Hopefully I’ll be licensed in December, and I am just so afraid that I’ll always be the fresh meat that no one wants. Hang in there. I’m sure something perfect will come along for you.

Sorry about the job. I think your dad’s message speaks to me too. I’ve been looking for a job since Jan and I can’t find anything! I’m not even getting calls for interviews. So frustrating. I hope that there is something out there for me soon – and you too!
Congrats on the new car. Love the graduation announcements!!

Your car is absolutely gorgeous girl, I was so happy to see you smiling next to it 🙂
Don’t let the job hunt get you down, you’re going to find a place that suits you even better and as far as the energy/eating – we have definitely all been there.
Small changes make a huge difference, sometimes it can just be a bit tough. Let me know if there’s anything I can do, yes..all the way from Boston xo
