Blissdom Blues

Summing up Blissdom is really hard for me. I met so many wonderful people that were just genuinely kind, and I have to admit, I’m a little sad being back home in Waco where I only have a handful of friends. They call this feeling the “Blissdom Blues,” and I can’t help but feel it.

Y’all know I’m a HUGE fan of blogger meet ups. I met Neely, Sar, Sarah, and Taylor that way, and then made so many friends at the Austin meet up that  I kind of seriously love them. So when the opportunity for Blissdom arrived, I knew I had to jump on it. The chance to meet oh-so-many bloggers that I’ve been chatting with for a year or two?! It was too good to be true.

I know there have been several posts from bloggers about their bad Blissdom experiences, and I’m honestly sad that they felt that way. Of course, there are two sides to every coin, but I sincerely enjoyed my time at the conference. Not only did I connect with people, but I foraged stronger friendships, laughed at hilariously awesome and creative blog names like From Carpools to Cocktails, made connections with businesses, and learned a TON of information that really inspired me to find a TRUE direction to my blog.

In any case, I still have no idea how I’m going to recap the conference, but there were a TON of pictures taken. The girls and I all shared our pictures with each other, and Neely made us this video. I know it’s long, but I love it :)

  1. I have no clue how I’m going to find time to do my recap! I wish I had taken Mon off so that I could catch up on sleep and blogging!! I’m sad that people are blogging about negative experiences too. I’m just glad that I had a good time. It was really fun meeting you and hanging out!

  2. I’m glad you had a great time — thanks for letting me vicariously live through your group via Whitney! I was really astonished by the bad reviews… I don’t know about you but it sure made me think twice about how intentional I am with bloggers the next time I am around a group of them!!

    Happy Tuesday!!

  8. Loved the pic recap! :) I had a great time but have read a lot of recaps of negative experiences. I’m tired of all the blogger hate…check the junior high crap at the door. You have to make these conferences into what you want them to be. You have to be Team Yourself first and foremost if you want your blog to go anywhere. Although when you do get 600 women together it’s kind of hard to avoid confrontation, I suppose?? Anyways, I had a blast. Made so many connections!!! So enjoyed seeing you there!!

  9. Stephanie, it sounded like a great success!

I am not sure why anyone would take to the worldwide web and express negativity over a conference that is there to help everyone – so I for one, will not be reading those posts.

I am def attending next year – !!

  13. I’m also feeling the Blissdom Blues. None of my IRL friends blog, or get blogging, so I miss being around people who are such an inspiration and understand my passion. I’m sorry we didn’t get a chance to spend more time together at the conference. Maybe next year?! :)

Wanted so much to attend Blissdom, especially since I’m in Houston, just 4 hours away. But I had to stand in my friends’ wedding.

I’m hosting a super duper group giveaway, on my blog. Don’t miss out! And if you’d like to be a co-host on my next giveaway, I would be honored!

  22. Hey ! I was in Waco last Monday at the Zoo with my kids. If you need a teeny tiny dose of Blissdom, just shout the word out and we can get together some bloggers for another Austin tweet-up. :) So nice to meet you at Blissdom.

  24. Thank you for a very interesting blog. Where else could I get that kind of info written in such an ideal approach? I have a undertaking that I’m just now running on, and I have been at the look out for such information.

  25. This is a topic which is near to my heart… Best wishes!

  26. I was curious if you ever thought of changing the structure of your blog?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect
with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text
for only having one or 2 images. Maybe you could space it out better?

in Canada. Take into consideration the look and feel of the advertisement.
It will be advantageous to highlight everything related to carpentry in and outside of school.
